Back and Feeling Good

I had my first class in over a month today. It feels great to be back in the gi and on the mat.

Today we went over some takedowns and then on how to control a guy from your guard when he throws punches. Both techniques were great and just like before everyone was super nice and helpfull.

Once I get better at BJJ hopefully i'll be able to put techniques into words better so I can actually write out some steps for anyone who actually reads this. I have each step still fresh in my mind and I can still remember techniques from way back in my no gi days last summer so I know I won't forget if I don't write them out, I just can't find the words.

So I'm back on the horse and I'm never getting off.

Withdrawal from BJJ

I am having some serious withdrawal symptoms. I haven't done Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in about a month and it is killing me! This is after a multiple month long hiatus since I had to stop doing no gi at JG MMA Academy.

March 10th, 2009 was my first time back in Jiu-Jitsu and my first class with a gi. I switched schools, JG MMA Academy to Cincinnati Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, and I'm really liking the change. Jim Kelly is a great guy and a amazing instructor. I got to talk to one of the brown belts after class who was telling me how Jim was on another level then any of the instructors in the area. That might seem like he is just trying to sell me on the schools but he is very good friends with all the instructors over at JGs so he definitely knows there skill level.

Due to my grades not being the best my parents haven't allowed me to go back but now my grades are up and I'm going to return hopefully this Monday.

Finally this junkie gets another fix!!!
